About the work

A painted corrugated metal sheet in which the ridges of the industrial material become the rhythm of the composition. Paint accentuates the folds, turning a ubiquitous building material into an abstract wall work. Shown in In Search of Material Within Material at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Nai's practice of transforming modest, distinctly Indian materials while preserving their history and memory.
