About the work
Dunes 1.2 (2023) extends Al Qubaisi's long-running exploration of the desert, translating the rippling crests of sand dunes into a sculptural form whose surfaces echo the movement of wind across the landscape. Shown in Between Land and Sea at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Al Qubaisi's engagement with Emirati heritage, the desert landscape, sustainability and traditional craft.
