About the work
Foundation 4 (2022) continues the Foundation series that Al Qubaisi began more than a decade earlier, using stacked and interlocking forms to reflect on the cultural and physical structures on which a society is built. Shown in Between Land and Sea at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Al Qubaisi's engagement with Emirati heritage, the desert landscape, sustainability and traditional craft.
