About the work

Painted, crushed aluminium mounted on stainless steel mesh forms a deep, sculptural relief whose folds trap light and shadow, blurring the line between painting and object. Shown in In Search of Material Within Material at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Nai's practice of transforming modest, distinctly Indian materials while preserving their history and memory.
