Bu Warda — 'the one with the rose' — is a photographic print in which Karima Al Shomely records a floral motif drawn from traditional Emirati women's adornment, presenting it with the clarity of an archival document and the warmth of personal memory. Part of Between a Fold and a Memory at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Al Shomely's research into Islamic geometry and the heritage iconography of Emirati women.
