About this district

A short walk north of the bazaar, 30 Tir Street and its surroundings hold Tehran's museum core — the National Museum of Iran chief among them, with the Glassware and Ceramics Museum and others close by, on one of the city's oldest and most atmospheric streets. This is where the country's archaeological and decorative heritage is gathered, in landmark buildings, within a few minutes' walk of one another. It is a quieter, scholarly counterpart to the palace and bazaar next door. The register is museal. The walk between them is half the pleasure.
