Liwa & Al Dhafra

The desert interior — the Liwa oasis crescent along the northern edge of the Empty Quarter, and the wider Al Dhafra region running west toward the Saudi border. Dunes among the largest anywhere, date farms, and a heritage calendar built around camels, falconry and poetry. Two hours and change from the city, and it feels much further.
