About the work

Part of a numbered series of large watercolours on Arches paper, Untitled X layers washes of pigment into a meditative, almost woven surface that recalls the textures of compressed cloth and jute. Shown in In Search of Material Within Material at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Nai's practice of transforming modest, distinctly Indian materials while preserving their history and memory.
