About the work

A large wall work assembled from found, rusted corrugated metal sheets and wood. Nai flattens and reorganises the weathered sheets, so that their stains, dents and corrosion become a record of urban life and labour. Shown in In Search of Material Within Material at Leila Heller Gallery Dubai, the work reflects Nai's practice of transforming modest, distinctly Indian materials while preserving their history and memory.
