Under the Missile Tree

About the work

Cross-stitch embroidery on Majdalawi linen in which the motif of the tree, central to Palestinian tatreez, is reworked into rows of missile-like forms. Shown in Silent Witnesses at al markhiya gallery, Katara Cultural Village, Doha (2026), an exhibition examining how familiar objects rooted in intimacy and routine take on new meanings when recontextualised through violence, displacement and fragmentation.
