Arabian Stallion, Gold Souk
A bronze Arabian horse guarding the south entrance of the Gold Souk — heritage counterpart to the camels up north.
Where the Gold Souk's north entrance is guarded by a family of resting bronze camels, its south entrance is marked by a bronze Arabian stallion — the two sculptures bookending the souk's themed "journey of the caravan traders." The Arabian horse is one of the most storied symbols of the region: prized for centuries for its stamina, spirit and beauty, and woven deep into Gulf heritage and identity. Cast in bronze and set among the souk's decorative gold and marble detailing, the stallion welcomes shoppers into the world's largest indoor gold souk from its southern side, a counterpoint of movement and pride to the patient camels at the other end.
Exhibo editorial
Best appreciated as one half of a pair: walk the Gold Souk from the camels at the north entrance through the Treasury Dome to the stallion at the south, and the heritage narrative the designers built — desert caravan to treasury — reads in full. A quick but rewarding trail through the souk.
How to find it
At the south entrance of the Gold Souk inside The Dubai Mall. Pair with the bronze Camel Family at the north entrance and the Treasury Dome between them for the full souk route.
