The southern end of Gezira island, given over to a landscaped cultural campus — the Cairo Opera House, the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, and the Ceramics Museum in the Prince Amr Ibrahim Palace on Sharia Al-Saraya. Gardens, gates, and institutions rather than shopfronts. A few minutes from Zamalek's galleries and a completely different register.
