About the work
Red Sofa (2025) centres on a single piece of furniture that becomes a stage for absence and memory. The vivid red against a pared-back room exemplifies Sharif's use of colour as emotional signal. Shown in Allusive Veil, Hisham Sharif's first solo exhibition at Ayyam Gallery and in the UAE, which offers a vulnerable, nuanced portrayal of life through painted interiors that act as emotional landscapes.
