Behind the Window

About the work

Behind the Window (2026) frames the outside world through a window seen from within a still interior, contrasting enclosure and longing, privacy and the pull of elsewhere. Shown in Allusive Veil, Hisham Sharif's first solo exhibition at Ayyam Gallery and in the UAE, which offers a vulnerable, nuanced portrayal of life through painted interiors that act as emotional landscapes.
