Popstar

About the work

Popstar portrays a performer in the spotlight, capturing the glamour and vulnerability of being on stage. Painted for Frogs, Jazz & Blisters, her debut solo exhibition, the work belongs to a body of paintings about living between London and Kuwait, or 'being two Dalals'. The painting reflects on the 'high' that the artist associates with her time in London and the quieter self that remains when the music stops.
