About the work

Layers of diluted acrylic paint are absorbed into raw linen in overlapping triangular forms. The natural tone and texture of the unprocessed linen shape how the colour settles into the weave, giving the surface an organic, slightly raw quality and evoking the shifting effects of light through colour. Shown in Taking Form, Begum's fifth solo exhibition at The Third Line, Dubai.
