Aperture is dedicated to creating insight, community, and understanding through photography by supporting emerging and established artists via its Portfolio Prize, PhotoBook Awards, and editorial platforms. Aperture is a nonprofit publisher and cultural institution dedicated to photography, currently operating from its temporary location at 547 West 27th St while preparing for a permanent home. It will open its new permanent space at 380 Columbus Avenue in New York City on September 18, 2026. The organization publishes Aperture Magazine, maintains the Paul Strand Archive, and hosts exhibitions, educational programs, and public conversations centered on lens-based art.
