Curatorial Ethos
The society aims to bridge the gap between new media artists and audiences by promoting interdisciplinary practices at the intersections of art, science, and technology. It functions as a mediator to empower smaller project spaces across Iran and reconnects intellectual resources by linking local artists with the diaspora through archival preservation and knowledge production.
New Media Society is a non-profit project space, library, and archive founded in Tehran in 2014 to act as a hub for new media arts. It operates a physical location in downtown Tehran featuring a research room, study space, and the Iranian Media Art Archive, while maintaining an active online bilingual portal. The organization facilitates projects through curated programs, exhibitions, screenings, and educational initiatives like night schools and summer workshops.
