The organization’s programme focuses on responsiveness, heritage conservation, and provocative collaboration to provide an affordable home for visual and performing artists of diverse cultural backgrounds. It actively supports Latino arts through initiatives like the Historias project and the Van Lier Fellowship, aiming to preserve community history and foster civic engagement.

The Clemente Center is a Puerto Rican and Latinx cultural space located in the Lower East Side of New York City. It operates as a multidisciplinary hub that connects contemporary artists, cultural workers, and small arts organizations by offering subsidized studios, exhibition spaces, rehearsal rooms, and venue rentals. The center produces its own programming focused on heritage conservation, community empowerment, and provocative collaboration.
