Curatorial Ethos

Gagosian presents a multidisciplinary programme featuring painting, sculpture, video, and installation by prominent modern and contemporary artists. The gallery focuses on significant historical surveys and new commissions, often accompanied by scholarly publications and catalogues to contextualize the works within art history.

Established by Larry Gagosian in Los Angeles in 1980, Gagosian is a global gallery specializing in modern and contemporary art with exhibition spaces across the United States, Europe, and Asia. The Hong Kong location at 12 Pedder Street serves as part of this international network, hosting major exhibitions such as James Turrell’s Glasswork pieces and Skyspace models. The gallery employs more than three hundred people and operates alongside innovative digital platforms and a dedicated publishing arm.
