About this district

A coastal village northwest of Manama holding Bahrain's foremost archaeological site — Qal'at al-Bahrain, the Bahrain Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the ancient capital of Dilmun. Karbabad is seafront and greenery wrapped around a great tell that layers 4,500 years of history, crowned by a Portuguese-era fort, with a modern site museum. This is the district for the deep archaeological past of Bahrain. The register is archaeology and antiquity.
