She blew the wish flowers, one by one; come back, come back... until the wind stopped carrying your name. And then, she forgot it too

About the work
A bittersweet drawing about longing and letting go, in which a figure blows on dandelion-like wish flowers amid a field of colour, the long title reading like a fragment of a private letter. Part of Tirdad Hashemi and Soufia Erfanian's collaborative Flower series, shown in I Bloom Where You Hold Me at Gallery Isabelle, the drawing builds flowers from loose, gestural oil pastel marks around a scene of care drawn from the artists' own lives; its poetic title comes from their long-standing practice of letter writing.
