Centre des Arts Vivants de Radès

Curatorial Ethos

The centre’s mission is to stimulate artistic vocations and foster emerging talent across plastic arts through a structured programme of training workshops, artist residencies, and curated exhibitions. Its practice-based curriculum and museographic space actively preserve Safia Farhat’s textile heritage while supporting contemporary interdisciplinary creation and international cultural exchange.

The Centre des Arts Vivants de Radès is a multidisciplinary art centre located at the edge of the Radès forest in Tunisia, operating under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Established in 1982 by artists Abdallah and Safia Farhat and donated to the state, it houses the Safia Farhat Museum alongside dedicated studios for ceramics, printmaking, weaving, sculpture, and photography. The centre runs a year-round programme of artist residencies, educational workshops, and contemporary exhibitions while preserving its founder’s textile legacy.
