Curatorial Ethos

INJA Gallery operates as a dedicated platform for Iranian contemporary art, prioritizing works that engage with historical Persian painting techniques and still life traditions while accommodating diverse artistic mediums. The programme balances emerging solo presentations with curated group exhibitions that explore specific thematic intersections across different generations of artists. By situating its activities within a historic residential architecture, the gallery fosters an intimate environment for contemplating artworks shaped by time, society, and cultural heritage.

INJA Gallery is a commercial contemporary art space located in Tehran, Iran, founded in autumn 2018 by Saber Abar with Shahed Saffari serving as director. Operating out of a renovated historic house on Mirzaye Shirazi Street since July 2020, the gallery presents both solo and thematic group exhibitions across various mediums. Its programme emphasizes Iranian artists working within or reinterpreting traditional Persian painting and still life conventions. The gallery maintains regular visiting hours from Sunday through Thursday and hosts shows on a frequent, multi-month schedule.
