8cube Gallery — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

The gallery focuses on showcasing emerging Iranian artists through group exhibitions and collaborative programmes, aiming to foster unity within the local art community during uncertain times. Founder Aida Mofakham emphasizes adapting to the fragile market by developing new initiatives to attract collectors and expand audiences, viewing art as a vital means of resilience and continuity.

8Cube Gallery is a commercial contemporary art space located in northern Tehran, Iran, founded by Aida Mofakham and opened in November 2024. The gallery occupies the eighth floor of her family’s luxury Ava Platt shopping centre, which Mofakham transformed into a multipurpose cultural space after returning to Iran from London. Despite facing significant economic challenges and market instability following regional conflict, the venue continues to host exhibitions, such as the group show 'Expectant' featuring emerging Iranian artists.
