Bavan Gallery — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

The gallery’s programme focuses on presenting the evolving landscape of contemporary art, particularly highlighting the growing influence of new media and fostering dialogue between Iranian practitioners and the international scene. It seeks to amplify artists who drive creative shifts in both cultural and market contexts, while supporting critical discourse through curated exhibitions, panels, workshops, and publications.

Located in downtown Tehran with a secondary space in London, Bavan Gallery was founded in 2018 by Ava Ayoubi and opened to the public in December 2019. The gallery operates across multiple floors and a basement project space, presenting a continuous programme of solo and group exhibitions alongside international fair participations such as Artissima and Asia Now. It actively supports Iranian artists at various career stages while bridging local contemporary practices with the global art scene.
