Ab-Anbar Gallery — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

The gallery’s programme centres on entangling art and history through works that defy fixed categories and traverse physical and conceptual territories to reflect contemporary tensions and transformations. By championing underrepresented perspectives and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, Ab-Anbar reimagines marginalised positions as active sites of generative discourse and cross-cultural exchange.

Ab-Anbar Gallery is a contemporary art venue founded in Tehran in 2014 that operates dual locations in Iran and London’s Fitzrovia district. The gallery presents a year-round programme of solo and group exhibitions featuring emerging and established international artists working across painting, sculpture, video, and installation. Beyond traditional exhibitions, it collaborates with cultural practitioners, independent publishers, and performers to cultivate an interdisciplinary artistic environment. Anchored in both cities, the space actively amplifies underrepresented perspectives while fostering dialogue between artists, institutions, and global audiences.
