Curatorial Ethos
The gallery focuses on representing emerging and established artists, many of whom had their first commercial solo exhibitions here before achieving international success. It emphasizes environmental sustainability within the visual art sector through its founding membership in the Gallery Climate Coalition.
Founded in 2002 by Kate MacGarry, this East London gallery represents over 25 emerging and established artists and two estates. The venue is located at 27 Old Nichol Street, a space designed by British architect Tony Fretton, and maintains a rigorous exhibition schedule featuring artists who have gone on to exhibit at major international institutions such as MoMA, Tate, and the Venice Biennale. The gallery also operates a shop and is an active member of the Gallery Climate Coalition.
