Curatorial Ethos

The gallery champions artists from the Middle East while building bridges with the wider international art world, prioritizing the presentation of emerging and established contemporary practices. A core curatorial ethos involves achieving gender balance through equal representation of women and men, alongside a commitment to education and inspiring younger generations through the instructive and healing powers of art.

Art on 56th is a contemporary art gallery located in the Gemmayzeh district of Beirut, Lebanon, founded in 2011 by gallerist Noha Wadi Moharram. The gallery represents artists from Lebanon and the broader Middle East, maintaining a strong regional and international presence with works held in major museums and private collections. It operates as a commercial space hosting rotating solo and group exhibitions that engage with local contexts while fostering cross-cultural exchange.
