Moharam Bek

An inland residential district south of the centre, holding the Alexandria Museum of Fine Arts — Egyptian and Middle Eastern painting alongside Baroque, Rococo, Romantic and Orientalist works, in a modernist building with a garden and a Mahmoud Mukhtar sculpture in it. The Alexandria Biennale is held here. Ordinary streets, serious collection.
