About the work
Named after the mischievous squirrel of Norse mythology who runs up and down the world tree, Ratatosk belongs to Hasenauer's ochre works, which look like sun-faded photographs. A thick, textured layer of gesso guides the composition and gives the surface its weathered appearance.
