Biography
Rohini Devasher (b. 1978) is an Indian artist whose research-intensive practice examines the intersections of the humanities and the sciences. Working across drawing, print, video, sound and installation, she draws on astronomy, observation technologies and collaborations with scientists and amateur astronomers to explore deep time, the cosmos and the ways we perceive phenomena beyond human scale. Her monumental silk installation Latent Fields translates solar phenomena such as sunspots into luminous imagery that moves from the microscopic to the atmospheric.
