About

The foundation is committed to preserving and presenting Oman’s historical memory and traditional crafts while actively supporting emerging and established Omani artists through exhibitions, performances, and educational initiatives. Its programme bridges heritage conservation with contemporary creativity, aiming to broaden public awareness of both historical traditions and modern artistic expression across generations.

Established in 1998 as Oman’s first private museum, Bait Al Zubair houses an extensive collection of Omani artifacts spanning several centuries. Since becoming a cultural foundation in 2005, it operates from Al Saidiya Street in Old Muscat as a multidisciplinary hub dedicated to heritage preservation, visual and performing arts, community education, and cultural exchange. The institution maintains four core pillars—arts, education, heritage, and culture—to safeguard national identity while fostering contemporary creative practice.
