Kira Freije: Between Sunlight
In Between Sunlight, the British artist Kira Freije (born 1985 in London, where she lives and works; shortlisted for this year’s Turner Prize) brings together a group of sculptural works in Maschinenhaus M1. Her figures radiate a deep sense of connection, even as they appear absorbed in their own thoughts. Fabric and found materials give the scenes a layered, tactile quality, while the narratives are deliberately left open, leaving room for visitors to bring their own experiences and associations.
