Asakusa is a 40-square-meter contemporary art venue located in a renovated residential house in Nishi-Asakusa, Tokyo, founded in October 2015. It operates as a small voluntary project space run by gallery curators Koichiro Osaka and Mariko Mikami, focusing on co-curating exhibitions with researchers from diverse academic fields. The program combines community-based initiatives with social and political agendas, featuring artists such as Thomas Hirschhorn, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and Yoko Ono.
