The gallery defines itself as a pioneer of Japanese contemporary art with a main goal to support and showcase the regional character, originality, and commonality of Asia. Its programme focuses on promoting various Japanese artists and expanding the variety of their works through international exhibitions and institutional collaborations.

Ota Fine Arts is a commercial gallery established in Tokyo in 1994, recognized as a pioneer of Japanese contemporary art. The Singapore location opened in 2012 at Gillman Barracks to expand the gallery's regional programmes alongside its spaces in Tokyo and Shanghai. It represents internationally acclaimed artists such as Yayoi Kusama and presents solo and group exhibitions featuring East Asian avant-garde and contemporary fine art.
