Curatorial Ethos
The venue functions as a critical platform for contemporary art through three core programmes: 'Project 1' (Open Call for Artists), 'Project 2' (Sarubia Outreach & Support), and 'Project 3' (Curatorial Special Exhibition/Sarubia Insight). It emphasizes experimental practices and provides structural support for artists via critic programs and offsite projects.
Project Space SARUBIA is an independent art space located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea, established in 1999. Operating as a non-profit alternative venue, it has presented over 150 exhibitions featuring nearly 200 artists, maintaining a year-round programme of solo and group shows. The space supports its operations through membership, editions, and fundraising initiatives while providing a platform for emerging and mid-career contemporary artists.
