Curatorial Ethos

The gallery focuses on introducing the present state of Korean modern and contemporary art while discovering regional talent through diverse experimental exhibitions. Its programme highlights key figures in Dansaekhwa and explores intersections between traditional aesthetics and contemporary sculptural or painterly practices.

Johyun Gallery is a commercial gallery founded in 1989 with locations in Seoul and Busan, South Korea. Celebrating its 37th anniversary, the institution presents contemporary art exhibitions and represents a roster of established Korean and international artists. The gallery actively participates in major global art fairs, including Art Basel, Frieze, and KIAF.
