Gallery Chosun — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

The gallery works with artists who explore the expansiveness of their chosen media and strive to keep art connected to society, believing that supporting these artistic worlds leaves meaningful traces in both art and society. Through initiatives like the 'Vision Act' movement and long-term documentation projects, it aims to provide new environments that stimulate artist growth and preserve key moments for future generations.

Gallery Chosun is a commercial gallery located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, founded in 2004 by the second-generation director of Korea’s second-oldest gallery, Chosun Art Gallery (est. 1971). It introduces artists who shape important currents in the Korean art scene and participates in international fairs such as Art Basel Miami, Art Cologne, and Frieze Seoul. The gallery operates with a focus on fostering contemporary artistic growth while contributing to the systematization of the Korean art market through publications and standard contracts.
