Curatorial Ethos
Barakat Contemporary focuses on in-depth research into important topics in international society and contemporary art, presenting artists who offer a humanities-based perspective on the present era. The gallery supports the long-term growth of unique artists from various cultures, offering audiences opportunities to explore contemporary issues arising from the points of contact between different societies.
Opened in 2016 in the center of Seoul, Barakat Contemporary is an exhibition space located at 58-4 Samcheong-ro, Jongno-gu. The gallery presents contemporary art to domestic and international audiences, featuring artists from diverse regions including Africa, America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. It operates Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm with free admission.
