Curatorial Ethos

Pioneer Works aims to accelerate culture through the free exchange of ideas, transcending disciplinary silos by leveraging the arts and sciences as both a lens and catalyst for societal challenges. Its mission builds community through curiosity, inclusion, equity, resilience, and creative engagement across diverse knowledge bases.

Pioneer Works is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural center in Red Hook, Brooklyn, founded by artist Dustin Yellin and opened to the public in 2012. Housed in a historic 1866 ironworks building, it operates as an interdisciplinary hub for visual and performing arts, science, technology, and music. The organization provides studio spaces, labs, and exhibition areas to foster collaboration among artists, scientists, and community members.
