Curatorial Ethos
The gallery explores diverse ways to make exhibitions and exist as a space where time and relation are progressive and simultaneous. Kurimanzutto seeks to foment conversations between the international and the local, establishing an exchange of ideas that transcends national borders through collaborative projects and critical dialog.
Kurimanzutto is a commercial gallery founded in the late 1990s by Mónica Manzutto, José Kuri, and Gabriel Orozco, originally conceived to support emerging Mexican artists. The gallery operates with an itinerant structure, maintaining permanent spaces in Mexico City (San Miguel Chapultepec) and New York (Chelsea). It presents contemporary art exhibitions across its locations, fostering dialogue between local and international artistic practices.
