The mission of the Judd Foundation is interwoven with the development of Judd’s ideas about art and the practical concerns of his work, focusing on the preservation of his architectural and artistic legacy. It provides access to these spaces and resources while developing scholarly programs and maintaining state-of-the-art archival facilities for research and collection protection.
The Judd Foundation maintains and preserves Donald Judd’s permanently installed living and working spaces, libraries, and archives in New York and Marfa, Texas. Based at 101 Spring Street in New York and multiple sites in Marfa, the organization promotes a wider understanding of Judd’s artistic legacy through scholarly and educational programs. The Foundation manages extensive restoration plans for historic buildings, including the Architecture Office and Print Building, to sustain these spaces for future generations.
