The gallery presents Japanese Fine Art + Craft, focusing on works that embody Japanese aesthetic sensitivity born of a spiritual bond with nature. It celebrates human invention, the natural world, and sublime beauty through traditional techniques such as Nihonga painting and urahaku leaf backing.
Ippodo Gallery is a commercial gallery located in Tribeca, New York, established as the New York branch of a Tokyo-founded institution (1996) that opened its NYC location in 2008. The gallery serves as a cultural bridge to Japan’s living master artists, presenting fine handcrafted and rare works created using traditional materials and methods.
