Curatorial Ethos
The gallery addresses critical gaps in art history by constructing new narratives for artists lost to the canon, revealing depth within American Modernism through scholarly dedication and innovative curation. Its programme highlights women of postwar Abstract Expressionism alongside emerging contemporary talents who have yet to receive full recognition from the art market and institutions.
Berry Campbell is a commercial gallery founded in 2013 by Christine Berry and Martha Campbell, currently housed in a custom-built 9,000-square-foot space on a prestigious block in Chelsea, New York. The gallery champions artists historically marginalized due to gender, race, age, and geography, with a particular focus on postwar and contemporary figures. It actively participates in leading international art fairs such as Art Basel, Frieze, and The Armory Show.
