Amos Eno Gallery — gallery cover

Curatorial Ethos

Amos Eno serves as an alternative platform for professional artists, giving precedence to artistic expression freed from commercial restraints. Its programme complements exhibitions with diverse performances, educational initiatives, and public events to promote cultural growth within the New York art community.

Founded in 1974 and located at 191 Henry Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Amos Eno Gallery is a nonprofit, artist-run cooperative space. It presents a full season of exhibitions by emerging and mid-career artists working across visual, performance, installation, and digital media. The gallery is operated by a community of professional artists vetted through peer review, alongside a part-time director.
