Curatorial Ethos
The centre operates as a hybrid cultural platform that merges architectural heritage preservation with contemporary art programming, emphasizing cross-cultural dialogue through diverse global and regional exhibitions. Its environment integrates artistic presentation with leisure and wellness amenities within a historic Gulf-Islamic and European chateau-inspired setting.
La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art occupies a 150-year-old historical monument in Manama, Bahrain, restored by French artist Jean Marc Sinan into a multidisciplinary cultural hub. The venue houses contemporary art galleries alongside an open-air amphitheatre, fine dining restaurant, exclusive spa, and pilates studio. It presents international exhibitions featuring works from Middle Eastern, African, Asian, and Western artists within a restored 19th-century architectural landmark.
