Curatorial Ethos
Tashkeel’s curatorial ethos focuses on nurturing contemporary art and design to empower the UAE’s creative industries through skill-building, mentorship, and international collaboration. Its programme highlights innovation and excellence via initiatives like the Critical Practice residency and Tanween design cohort, while also embedding UAE-made art and design into society through its commercial consultancy, Tasmeem Tashkeel.
Tashkeel is a multidisciplinary art platform and exhibition campus founded in 2008 by Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Located at Unit 89, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz, Dubai, it operates as a studio, gallery, and makerspace providing specialist facilities for visual artists and designers. The venue hosts an annual programme of exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops, and training initiatives aimed at practitioner development and public engagement.
