FN Designs was founded by Sheikha Wafa bint Hasher Al Maktoum — artist, curator, and one of the quieter but more consequential figures in Dubai's cultural life. She started Sketch at Alserkal Avenue in 2009, before the avenue had the reputation it has now, and has been part of the infrastructure of the scene ever since. FN Designs continues that work without announcing itself too loudly. The programming follows conviction rather than market logic: Home, Again by Iranian-UAE artist Sahar Ghavami — immersive, Superflat-influenced, built around childhood memory and rescued animals and autoimmune illness — was one of the more quietly affecting shows in Dubai in early 2026. The National listed it. Most people walked past the door without knowing what was inside. That gap between visibility and quality is exactly what a space like this exists to close.
