Curatorial Ethos

The gallery’s mission is to promote young emerging talent alongside established artists both regionally and internationally, driven by a belief in the interconnectedness of how Egyptian history and society influences identity. Its programming focuses on showcasing work frequently through simultaneous monthly exhibitions and providing art consultancy services.

Ubuntu Art Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Zamalek, Cairo, Egypt, which opened in October 2014. It specializes in contemporary Egyptian artworks and the secondary market for modern Egyptian art, operating out of a two-story headquarters while also exhibiting at satellite locations such as the Swan Lake Clubhouse. The gallery maintains a regular program of monthly exhibitions and hosts educational initiatives like the 'Ubuntu Dialogues' lecture series.
